About Me
My name is Michelle Damon. I am a 29 year old mother of two boys, Frank age 6 1/2 and Logan 3 1/2. I was born and raised in Maine. I have over 15 years of experience working with children. I started out babysitting when I was 10 years old. In high school I worked at daycare for 2 years until I graduated in 2000, I married my high school sweet heart and moved to New Jersey where he is was stationed. I got a job at McGuire AFB Child Development Center right after I moved here. I worked there for 4 years until I had my first son in 2004. I love and enjoy working with children but after I had my first son I decided to stay home with him. I missed working with children but did not want to give up spending time with my own boys, so I decided to do it from home. I went through the process of being registered through the state of NJ and was a home child care provider for about 3yrs. We are now stationed at Andrews AFB as of November 2010. I am doing family child care through the base. I have chosen child care as my life long profession. Watching each child grow and develop to their fullest potential and being involved as a part of this growing process makes my job very rewarding. It takes hard work and dedication to be good at what I do. I strive in understanding, patience and love in teaching and caring for children. I am successful only with the support and help of the parents who entrust their children to me.
 My Husband
My husbands name is Frank Damon. He too was born and raised in Maine. He joined the Air Force in 1998 after he graduated high school. He is currently going to college to complete his bachelors degree. The only day he had off from college classes, he was a volunteer mentor at Crichton Elementary School in NJ. He started and was in charge of the military mentor program at Crichton. Just before we left he got it started at one other school near the base.He would like to see this program expand to other schools in the area.
